We have been learning about our local area and all the awesome things around Panmure. We went on a hīkoi to see the Tamaki River, street signs and Mount Wellington War Memorial Park. We even got to have a look around in the Panmure Yacht and Boating Club. We could see lots of boats and yachts in the Moana.
We have been Learning the Letter F, to finish the week we made some Fairy Bread because it starts with the letter F. It was so fun and yummy. We love learning new letters in room 1.
On Monday it was a beautiful day so we decided to go outside onto the field and have a morning tea picnic as a class! Morris the monkey and Care Bear also came along to our picnic.
We enjoyed going to Flying Fives this afternoon. Our focuses were balance, enjoyment and team work. We loved working together and finding different ways to use the equipment!
We have been learning about measurement – length.
Today we built objects and had to choose a non-standard unit to measure these in. We chose hands, pencils, blocks or fingers to measure.
We made fry bread today to celebrate Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori. We loved watching it sizzle in the pan. It was delicious with butter and jam.
We were learning about the life cycle of sunflowers and learned how important bees are to the process of making honey. We did our own beehive artwork.
We have been Scientists today. We hypothesised what we thought would happen. We looked and questioned.
